From Training to Clients: Your First 30 Days as a Lash Artist

Jun 12, 2025

You’ve done your lash training (or you’re nearly there), and now you’re wondering…

What happens next?

Do you start charging straight away? Do you practise more first?

How do you actually get clients when you’re just starting out?

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or unsure — this post is for you. Here’s how to structure your first 30 days after training to build your confidence, improve your skills, and start attracting clients the smart way.

Week 1: Practice + Build Confidence

This week is all about repetition and support.

Focus on mastering the basics before you start taking on paid clients.

  • Practice fan making and mapping daily
  • Set up your lash space (even if it’s just a corner of your room)
  • Complete practice sets on mannequins or models
  • Start submitting work for feedback if your course offers it (like mine does!)
  • Watch technique tutorials and revise your training content

Tip: Take photos of all your work — you’ll use this later for content.

Week 2: Model Sets + Start Creating Content

Time to start working on real people — with clear expectations.

  • Offer free or low-cost model sets (friends, family, or through local groups)
  • Focus on 1–2 models per lash style (Classic, Hybrid, Russian)
  • Take high-quality before & after photos
  • Start posting on Instagram consistently: BTS, your journey, transformation pics
  • Ask your models for feedback and testimonials

This week is all about building trust, not perfection.

Week 3: Polish Your Brand + Prep for Paying Clients

Start getting your systems and structure in place.

  • Set up a booking link (even if it’s simple)
  • Create your Instagram highlights and bio using a free guide like mine
  • Write a cancellation policy
  • Create a pricing strategy (start with intro prices that reflect your time + costs)
  • Prep your client consultation forms and aftercare instructions

Week 4: Launch Softly + Get Visible

Time to start attracting real, paying clients — even if it’s just a few.

  • Promote your limited-time model or launch pricing
  • Post consistently with captions that speak to your dream client
  • Ask happy models to re-share their results
  • Start offering 1–2 slots per week for paying clients
  • Track your income, feedback, and growth!
