If I could sit down with the version of me who was just getting started in lashes — nervous, overwhelmed, but so full of hope — I’d have a few things to say.

Things I wish someone had told me before I picked up my first pair of tweezers. Things that would’ve saved me time, tears, and a whole lot of self-doubt.

So today, I’m sharing them with you — whether you’re just starting to think about becoming a lash artist or you’re in those early days wondering if you’ve made the right choice.

1. You Don’t Need to Be Perfect to Start 

Your first sets won’t look like the ones you see on Instagram — and that’s okay.

The people you look up to now? They were once beginners too.

Progress comes from practice, not perfection. So be patient with yourself and keep going. You’re learning something new, and that takes time — but you will get better.

2. Confidence Comes After Action, Not Before

I used to wait until I “felt ready” — spoiler: that day never came.

The truth? Confidence is built by doing the scary things anyway.

The more you practise, post your work, and put yourself out there, the more your confidence will grow.

3. The Course You Choose Matters More Than You Think

Not all lash courses are created equal. Some leave you with a certificate and no clue what to do next. Others give you a real roadmap, with support, structure, and guidance.
